Fisher Price Rainforest Open Top Cradle Swing with AC Adaptor—A Review of a Great Baby Swing
69
When my son was born, a cousin of mine gave me her Fisher Price swing to use (I think it was an ocean theme…). While cute and useful, it ran on batteries only and stopped working every few days. As my son grew heavier, it stopped working altogether. I had to get another one since he liked it so much!
After doing my research, I decided on the Fisher Price Rainforest Open Top Cradle Swing. It was the same, adorable rainforest pattern that was on several other items in my house and it had an AC adaptor, which was a must.

At Home with My Purchase: Fisher Price Rainforest Swing
Once home, I had no problem setting it up (I, unlike my husband, follow the directions…). One thing I wasn’t too thrilled with was the width of its stance. It takes up the space of a decent sized piece of furniture, like a wide chair. After thinking about it though, it needed that stance so my precious cargo didn’t tip out when swinging.
A few things I did like included the gender neutrality, the multiple swing settings, the mobile arm that moves up so I can easily remove the baby, the multiple song settings and the fact that the chair has the ability to swing side-to-side or, when turned, front to back. I also liked the two positions the seat could be in—reclined or upright—depending on the age of the baby, and the removable snack tray.
The multiple song settings is really a gift to parents. Instead of having to hear the same repeated songs or sounds over and over again, you can easily change the settings. On one setting, you can listen to soothing rainforest sounds. On another setting you can listen to baby lullabies and songs.
My Son and the Swing
My son used the chair until he was about 30lbs, despite the weight limit being 25lbs. We had to use the higher swing settings due to his weight, but the swing handled him with no problems. During this time, I found the swing to be very washable (cover comes off and can go in the washer) and so convenient. When he needed some alone time, I knew he’d enjoy the swing and be safe in it.
2011: My Daughter and the Fisher Price Swing
Fast forward two and a half years…We brought back out the swing for my daughter. It had been kept it in the attic, folded up and covered up for our next baby. When she arrived, it was easy to get the swing, clean it and use it. It still works just as great as it did for my son. I did have to find a new place for it since we acquired more furniture, but it is just fine in its little nook in my kitchen. My daughter is able to sit and play in it while I’m doing laundry, cooking or cleaning in the kitchen. Another bonus is it keeps her safe unlike the floor or the pack-n-play which are in the territory of her dinosaur toddler brother while I’m busy.
Long Story Short
1. Fisher Price Rainforest Swing
2. Easy to set-up and keep clean
3. Multiple swing, music and seat settings
4. Durable and lasts
5. AC adaptor or batteries
6. Keeps my baby happy and safe

I bought a baby-swing for my daughter when she was an infant. The swing is cool for entertaining my daughter, when I need to cook up something in the kitchen. voted up and following
I have and Love this swing!! Great hub!
I got the Fisher Price My Little Lamb Cradle and Swing as a gift several years ago. My first son hated the thing, so we hardly ever used it. 22 months later, I had my second son and he loves it! Problem is, it runs on batteries only :( We've had to change them out (4 D's!) twice now in 4 months. Needless to say, I want the AC adapter one, like the FP Luv U Zoo Cradle and Swing that we got for a friend. Both swings can switch motions, which is key for entertaining our little babes. But I figure he'll grow out of it soon anyway so I'm not buying another one for myself.
